WIMMERA Development Association will host a free National Broadband forum for business and community members at Grains Innovation Park, Horsham, on Friday.
Executive director Jo Bourke said the Well-connected Wimmera forum would run from noon to 3pm.
The forum is funded through Regional Development Australia, Grampians region, which Ms Bourke chairs.
Guest speaker will be Darren Anderson of Tasmania, who will discuss the benefits of high-speed broadband for families and businesses.
Mr Alexander is a Federal Government ‘digital champion’.
Ms Bourke said throughout the past 20 years Mr Alexander had built a small, regional Tasmanian software company into a world supplier of software and marketing tools for the paint and building product industries.
He has worked in colour education and graphic and web design for paint manufacturers and suppliers in 22 countries.
“The internet is a real game-changer that allows rural businesses to compete as though they are in the biggest city,” Mr Alexander said.
“As faster internet speeds become available incredible opportunities will emerge, many we can’t even think of now.”
Mr Alexander said in the future, GPs would be able to give consultations and examinations while patients remained in their homes or care facilities.
“This will put the best medical service in reach of people living in rural areas so they don’t have to travel long distances or be denied the best care,” he said.
Ms Bourke said people could call Tammy McDonald on 5381 6503 or email [email protected]苏州美甲美睫培训.au for more information or to RSVP.
