Picture: SAMANTHA CAMARRISHADOW Treasurer Tim Holding met Wimmera people on Tuesday to discuss a new Victorian jobs and investment plan.

Mr Holding, who is also the Shadow Minister for Industry, said Labor was developing the plan because the State Government was not doing enough to create jobs.

Mr Holding and Members for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford and Gayle Tierney met Wimmera leaders at a two-hour meeting at Horsham Golf Club.

“We met representatives from Wimmera Development Association, Horsham Rural City Council, the University of Ballarat and Wimmera HUB,” Mr Holding said.

“We also met Northern Grampians Shire Council chief executive Justine Linley and Regional Development Australia committee member and small business owner Bronwen Clark.

“Issues discussed included skills and population and developing strategies for new investment into industry and agriculture, tourism, education and health.

“We also spoke about strategies to make sure the region was well placed for people shifting from Melbourne to live, with housing, jobs and services on offer to support people.

“It was a terrific meeting.”

Mr Holding said the jobs and investment plan would be released in October or November.

“It’s a very important process because we need to provide a great environment to create jobs,” he said.

“We are inviting written submissions and ask people to visit www.danielandrews苏州美甲美睫培训.au/haveyoursay for more information and a brief discussion paper on these matters.”

Mr Holding, Ms Pulford and Ms Tierney also met Wimmera ALP Branch members during their visit to the region.
