NATIMUK and District Gymnastic Club won a state title in the boy’s level two team competition at the Victorian Championships in Melbourne on Saturday.

Club coach Lynette Morrow said the team of Nathan Rokebrand, Ethan Cox, Cooper Tyler and Becker Irwin won the level two open section title.

She said Cox won a bronze medal in the individual overall competition, finishing second in high bar and rings and third in pommel.

Irwin won the parallel bars competition and finished third in both pommel and rings to finish fifth overall.

Rokebrand tied for fifth, with his best result a third on the parallel bars.

Tyler finished 21st overall.

“Overall it was a very successful day for us,” Morrow said.

Morrow said the club’s level six gymnasts Ryan Morrow and Hudson Irwin would compete in the final day of the championships today.

Irwin enters the final day in first position overall, with Morrow sitting in fifth.

“Hudson’s experience at nationals paid off, he has been very focused and knows what to do,” he said.

“Ryan was a bit nervous on the first day, it was his first time competing at this level.”
